Room Impulse
Acoustical Measurement

The room
impulse response provides a way to examine the time history
of sound in a room. From the impulse response, various
acoustical metrics can be calculated. The figure above shows
the room impulse response for a small auditorium using the
EASERA room acoustics analyzer. The direct sound
(farthest spike to the left) and significant early
reflections (just after the direct sound) are shown. The
late reverberant decay follows the early reflections and is
used to compute the room reverberation time. |
