Environmental Noise Modeling

Noise
mapping can be useful for determining noise emissions from
various sources, such as transportation or industrial sites.
For the suburban community shown above, the noise level due
to roads is shown in purple, along with community noise
levels, where orange, yellow, and green represent higher to
lower levels. Noise level contours, similar to topographic
contours, can also be depicted. Noise mapping can be used to
show the efficacy of noise reduction measures and which
community areas are most affected. |
